Hackathon Terms and Conditions
- These Terms and Conditions of the hackathon organized under the name DIGIPOL Hackathon.

By registering to the Hackathon, you hereby agree to adhere to all terms and conditions as listed on the website.

The Hackathon shall be held in real-time, offline and it’s organized in English.

The Hackathon will be conducted at GITAM University Campus, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh from 13th October – 18th October 2025.

Only Indian nationals are eligible to participate in the Hackathon. Participants should have at least 18 years of age as on 1 October 2025.

Participation in the Hackathon is free of charge.

Each Team can consist of up to 6 Participants. It is possible to participate individually (1 team member).

Each Company, in order to declare interest in the Hackathon, must send the Application to the Organizer via a dedicated form available at the following URL address: www.digipo.org/hackathon.

Submitting the Application also means that the person who sends the Application on the Company’s behalf has read the Privacy Policy and he/she is authorized to act on behalf of the Company.

Registration for Hackathon shall begin on the 18 August 2025 at 9:00 AM and end on the 30th of September 2025 at 11:59 PM. The Organizer reserves the right to extend the deadline of the application or postpone or cancel the Hackathon without assigning any reasons.

At the Hackathon, each team is given a time frame of 30 minutes to demonstrate the intended solution.

By registering to the Hackathon, you don’t automatically qualify to participate unless your team and the technology you propose is approved by our team of security experts.

By applying for the Hackathon the Company grants the Organizers a right to share information about the Company in publications related to the Hackathon.

Only approved proposals will be called for presentation at the Hackathon. All disqualified proposals will not be notified and no explanation will be given for such rejected proposals and no communication will be entertained in this regard.

Shortlisting of the Proposals is done after due diligence by the security experts.

The proposed technology will be published to a group of security experts and we do not guarantee the protection of any intellectual property rights. Hence it is advisable to publish a very minimal amount of information that is enough to enlighten the security experts about your proposal.

Each Solution shall be evaluated by the panel of Judges designated for a given Challenge.

Each panel consists of at least two Judges. Judges shall be appointed by the Sponsor or the Government Agency or the Organizer.

The Judges assessment of the Solutions according to the solution’s innovation, usefulness, easiness of deployment, and maintaining safety, completeness, and quality of the Solution.

The submitted proposal concept or PoC should not be copied from any website or institution. You will be at your own risk in duplication or stealing or copying technology from other institutions.

The solution demonstrated can be actual deliverable, PoC or just a Presentation (PPT) describing the solution implementation methodology.

Participants are required to bring/use their own equipment (Laptops, Other equipment etc.) during the Hackathon events. However a projector with a screen is provided for presenting the solution.

The Hackathon will be conducted at GITAM Campus, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Hence all participants need to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

The Organizer declares that the Hackathon will be recorded in the form of audio-visual recording and/or photographs, and the works created in this way will be used for broadcasting in the mass media (television, radio, Internet, press, etc.) or for information, and promotion purposes by Organizer.

The shortlisted proposals will be recommended for funding with appropriate funding agencies like SIDBI, DPIIT etc. However the grant of such fund depends solely on the Participant’s credentials and the policies of the granting authorities. Digipol will not lobby for any participant nor the technology.

The shortlisted participants will be individually informed and for security reasons, the shortlisted data will not be published on any media. However the teams participated along with the title of the challenge will be published on the Digipol Website.

The Solutions created as part of the Hackathon may involve intellectual property rights, including copyrights.

Each Participant, signing up to the Hackathon, shall ensure that the Solution and it’s parts, submitted to Organizer are original works, free from legal defects and from any encumbrances, and they do not infringe the provisions of law nor the rights or interests of third parties, and the Participant shall be entitled to exclusive and unlimited moral right to them. Furthermore, each Participant shall declare that it is not a member of any organization for collective copyright management and that it shall have the right of disposition of rights to the Solution and its parts personally without the mediation of any third parties, including an organization for collective copyright management without any limitations.

If the organisers find any breach of these terms by the participants, they will be barred from future participation and also might be subjected to legal action.

The Organizer reserves the right to make any changes to these Terms, including changing the date of the Hackathon or cancelling it, for important reasons, such as a state of emergency, natural disaster withdrawal of all Partners and Sponsors, or a change in the law making it impossible to organize the Hackathon in the currently indicated manner.

Digipol programs are strictly for Police, Defense and other related government officers only. Except for exhibitors and other embassy officials, others civilians including media are not allowed inside the Digipol event venue.

Photography is allowed in common areas and videography is strictly prohibited in all areas.
